MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) – An autopsy is being conducted today (Monday) on the man accused of tossing an explosive device in front of his ex-girlfriend’s Manitowoc home over the weekend.
It began late Friday night when the woman went to the Manitowoc Police Department to report her ex-boyfriend was violating a restraining order.
While at the police department, the woman received a phone call stating the woman’s ex-boyfriend may have thrown an explosive device in front of her Raton Ct. home.
Police say the man left the scene and barricaded himself inside his 25th St. residence.
A perimeter was set up around the man’s home for hours while authorities tried to make contact with him.
Around 10 a.m. Saturday, law enforcement was able to make entry into the home but found suspicious wiring within the entryway.
Once the entryway was deemed safe by the Brown/Outagamie County Bomb Squad, officials searched the home and found the 49-year-old Manitowoc man deceased in a bedroom.
The man’s name has not been released.
Evidence of an explosion and fire were found in front of the woman’s home.
Police say they are still investigating the incident.
