ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A local credit union is making a difference to end homelessness.
Capital Credit Union started its 24-hour rooftop challenge Thursday.
Two members of the management team at the credit union on Morris Avenue in Ashwaubenon camped out overnight on the building’s roof to raise money and awareness for homelessness.
Wendy Wohr, senior vice president of Capital Credit Union branches and facilities, tells FOX 11 donations benefit St. John’s Homeless Shelter in Green Bay and Pillars in Appleton.
“Our tagline is doing the right thing, and we’re very actively involved in our community. I think this is definitely part of our community, we have a homeless population, and we want to raise awareness about that and for our homeless shelters, and then hopefully financially help.”
If you would like to donate, you can stop at all 26 Capital Credit Union branches through the end of May.
Last year’s campaign raised nearly $3,700.
