GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The next step in a lawsuit on the legality of Brown County’s half-percent sales tax will take place in June.
Oral arguments will be heard on June 5th.
At the start of the year, the county started collecting a half-cent sales tax with the proceeds funding projects.
The Brown County Taxpayers Association debated that legality of that tax saying it violated state law.
They argued that it is a violation for the county to be requiring proceeds to reduce property taxes.
Since then the county has been asking for a ruling.
