GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The release of the Packers schedule this week has businesses like Hotels and Ticket Brokers very busy the last couple of days.
The Hotel Northland is ready for their first Packer season since re-opening.
“Friday afternoon we opened up the reservations systems for the first couple of games.
We are still working on loading data in.”
General Manager John Williams says they just started opening up reservations Friday for the first couple of home games.
He says he is excited that the Packers host Minnesota and Denver right away.
“Fans tend to follow them and go with the team to away games and Lambeau has such an incredible draw. We are excited, this is going to be our first season and the first year.”
Ticket brokers also have thoughts on the schedule.
John Schmidt of Schmitty’s Tickets says early season home games will only payoff for sales if the team does well early.
“New Coach and Aaron Rodgers hopefully getting along with him.”
He says because ticket prices and value will go down if the team is out of the playoff hunt before they return home for the final two games at Lambeau in November and December, early season success is important.
He adds that it also makes a difference in overall purchasing habits.
“5 out of 6 games at home gives everyone a bigger choice which drops the price because if they don’t like the price of one game they will go to a cheaper game.”
One thing that may impact ticket availability this year is Milwaukee ticket holder games will be more difficult to come by because they are both noon games and they tend to use their tickets.
“They can tailgate and stay after the game and still be home by 7:00 or 8:00, that is what they want.”
Schmidt Vikings tickets are Starting at $259 for upper-level seats.
