ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – One last opportunity to say goodbye and come away with a memento will be available to the public before the Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena comes down.
Officials announced Thursday that a farewell ceremony will be held for the nearly 60-year-old venue on Monday, April 29 starting at noon.
At the event, the public can take up to two arena folding chairs as mementos or purchase a four-seat row of chairs for $50.
The ceremonies agenda is as follows:
- Open House: 12:00 p.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Ceremony: 12:30 p.m.-1:00 p.m.
- Sale of Arena Seating, Pickup of Free Folding Chairs (2 max): 1:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
Officials in attendance will include Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach, Ashwaubenon Village President Mary Kardoskee, and Brown County Board Chair Patrick Moynihan, Jr.
The final concert at the arena took place earlier in April when Bret Michaels played the venue one last time.
A new expo center to replace the arena is expected to be open by the start of 2020.
