OCONTO, WI (WTAQ) – In early 2019 the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office received information about an individual using a social media application to share and receive child pornography.
After a thorough investigation, the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant on March 19th, 2019 at a residence in the Town of Little Suamico.
As a result of the investigation, the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Jeremy V. Hoover, was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography and other sexual assault-related charges.
Mr. Hoover is currently incarcerated at the Oconto County Jail.
Throughout the investigation, the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Milwaukee Field Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Milwaukee Office, and the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Appleton Regional Office.
The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office is affiliated with the Wisconsin Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and is committed to the promotion of internet safety, the protection of our children, and the relentless pursuit of those who commit these heinous crimes.
This case is being prosecuted by the Oconto County District Attorney’s Office.
