GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Green Bay area families affected by flooding in March could qualify for some relief from the Catholic church.
The Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Green Bay received a $10,000 emergency grant from Catholic Charities USA to assist with damage caused by spring flooding.
“The damage to homes and property has been extensive, but we hope that every little bit of assistance helps our neighbors who have been impacted by the flood waters,” said Ted Phernetton, director of Catholic Charities, in a statement.
Eligible families, with an income of less than $60,000 per year, can receive $200 to be used for the costs of cleanup, replacement of damaged items, purchase of a dehumidifier, security deposits, and temporary housing.
The money will be given out on a first-come-first-served basis to those living within the 16 counties the Diocese of Green Bay serves.
To request grant funds, please call Ted Phernetton at (920) 272-8234 or tphernetton@gbdioc.org.
