GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The Green Bay Police Department is warning that phone calls soliciting donations for injured K9 officer Pyro are starting to circulate.
They say the department is not soliciting donations over the phone and the public should not give out their personal information or donate money over the phone if they receive one of these calls.
Pyro is currently recovering following surgery to repair stab wounds suffered Sunday night in an arrest.
30-year-old suspect Sai Vang appeared in court Wednesday and a $10,000 cash bond was set.
He faces three counts, including a felony charge of causing injury to a police animal, and misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and resisting.
