The Village of Allouez and the Town of Holland had the highest voter turnout percentages in Brown County for the April 2 election.
In the Town of Holland, 48.2 percent of the registered voters cast a ballot. That is the highest percentage of registered voters in municipalities with populations under 10,000 people.
39.6 percent of registered voters voted in the Village of Allouez. That was the highest percentage of all Brown County municipalities with a population of over 10,000 people.
It is the third win for the Village of Allouez and the first win for the Town of Holland.
“It’s your life difference, because, whoever gets in, you want it to be the right person. And whoever gets in, you live with that until the next election,” said Town of Holland chief inspector, Dorothy Vandewettering.
Project VOTE, a nonpartisan volunteer organization, was founded in 2002.
