OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – This weekend, the Special Olympics continued an annual tradition at UW-Oshkosh.
Basketball players came from across the state to compete in the 40th annual state basketball tournament.
Players competed in both 5-on-5, as well as 3-on-3 formats.
Brent Colbert tells FOX 11 the focus of the tournament is on sportsmanship, and friendly competition.
“Playing the game, and being around such great people, it’s an awesome place to be. Everybody’s so friendly. You meet friends from different areas. It’s kind of nice getting to know a lot of people from different parts of Wisconsin,” said Brent Colbert.
The state competition started with 220 teams, and this one featured 56 of those teams.
