TOWN OF GIBSON, WI (WTAQ) – A crash Sunday afternoon in Manitowoc County injured three motorcyclists, two of which sustained life-threatening injuries.
The crash happened around 3:15 p.m. on Highway R at Old Y Road.
State troopers say a 58-year-old Luxemburg man started to slow down on his bike, when he was hit by a 67-year-old Kewaunee man riding his motorcycle.
Both motorcyclists lost control and were thrown from their bikes, along with a 48-year-old Kewaunee woman riding on the second motorcycle.
Both the driver of the first motorcycle and the passenger of the second were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the second motorcycle was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Heavy rain and alcohol may have been factors in the crash, according to the State Patrol.
None of the three individuals were wearing a helmet.
