MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) – Manitowoc Police have made some progress in the investigation of a double homicide from last September.
The investigation stems from the September 9, 2018 murders of 51-year-old Richard Miller and his 19-year-old daughter Jocelyn Miller at their residence on Dale Street in Manitowoc.
Police determined that the two died from gunshot wounds.
Officers are now looking to identify a male subject that was seen in the area on the night of the homicides and are asking the public for help.
“We’re hoping that someone will see the video and will be able to identify the person or speculate who the person is and be able to call us and let us know who that would be,” explains Capitan David Vorpahl, with the Manitowoc Police Department.
The individual in the video is being classified as a person of interest.
“It is an ongoing investigation,” explains Captain Vorpahl. “We have two detectives that are working on the case full-time and we’re following up on all leads.”
And despite the ongoing investigation, the department recognized an opportunity to turn to the public in the hopes that someone might have knowledge that they don’t in recognizing the man from the video.
“Something that possibly they can assist us in identifying the person,” he says.
Officers are also looking for help in identifying a vehicle that was driving in the area that night.
“An early 2000’s model lighter colored Toyota Highlander,” says Captain Vorpahl. “Possibly gold or tan in color.”
Anyone who has any information about this man, vehicle, or anything else they believe could assist in the investigation, is being urged to call law enforcement at (920) 686-6551.
Those who wish to remain anonymous can call crime stoppers at (920) 683-4466.
A cash reward of up to $2,000 may be offered for information that helps solve the case.
