ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – Shopko announced on Monday that they are closing all their remaining department stores, which includes the last four remaining in Northeast Wisconsin.
The store in Bay Park Square Mall in Ashwaubenon, the store on East Mason Street in Green Bay, the Oshkosh store on Koeller Road and the Fond du Lac store on West Johnson Street, will all close in June.
A full list of closures can be found here.
Closing the remaining 120 department stores will affect 5,000 employees.
Four Shopko optical locations will remain open until further evaluation.
Those are located in Mequon, Oshkosh, Waukesha, and Omaha, Nebraska.
Shopko filed for bankruptcy in January of 2019, while it began closing stores in December of 2018.
“This is not the outcome that we had hoped for when we started our restructuring efforts,” says Russ Steinhorst, Chief Executive Officer of Shopko. “We want to thank all of our teammates for their hard work and dedication during their time at Shopko.”
