MENASHA, WI (WTAQ) – After a warehouse fire earlier this month, Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity Appleton ReStores is making a Public Call to Action.
The fire broke out on the evening of March 5th at a warehouse on Commerce Plaza in Neenah. Inside the warehouse, $70,000 dollars worth of products were lost.
Lea Hagins, Director of Communications says it was all items that they collected for their mission.
“Appliances, tools and things like couches and chairs,” she said. “That $70,000 dollars directly is hitting into the mission. I think replacing what we lost is making sure that we have the products in the pipeline to make sure that the stores are full.”
The call for action is for anyone that may have cabinetry, appliances, furniture, and tools along with other items to donate in order to keep their two locations stocked.
“We have free donation pickup and they can call the donation hotline to be able to do that.”
The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
Nobody was injured.
Hagins says the impact of the ReStore loss directly affects Fox Cities Habitat’s mission of providing safe, decent, affordable housing to those in need.
Donated products can be dropped off directly to ReStore East – 3000 East College Avenue or ReStore West – 5402 West Integrity Way (across from Costco) in Appleton.
Donation hours are Monday through Friday 10am-6pm and Saturdays from 9am-5pm. Call the Appleton ReStore Donation Hotline at 920-967-8907 to schedule a free pick-up of larger items.
If you are a manufacturer, distributor, or facility manager please call the donation hotline to coordinate your donated product delivery to one of the Appleton ReStore locations.
All product donations are tax deductible.
