OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – One mother in Oshkosh hopes to raise awareness for her son’s rare genetic disorder.
Paige Kissinger’s 2-year-old son, Harold, has ECHS1 deficiency.
It can be deadly, and Harold has a feeding tube.
Sunday was his birthday so Paige Kissinger had a fundraiser to raise money for trials and to research the disorder.
She tells FOX 11 Harold is one of about 14 reported worldwide cases.
“We didn’t really find out about this until about a year ago that this was the issue he was having. So, with this disorder and having that issue, Harold got very sick, with like a cold, ear infection.”
