GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A man sentenced to life in prison for killing a woman in Bellevue is asking for more time to file his appeal.
The attorney for George Burch says he is appealing the conviction of the murder of Nicole VanderHeyden in 2016.
The appeal was due in December and an extension was granted until March 4.
Court records show that a request for another extension was filed on Thursday.
Such requests are typically granted, but the appeals court hasn’t ruled on the request yet.
Burch killed VanderHeyden outside her home on May 21, 2016, before dumping her body in a farm field.
Burch was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole.
