APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – The Appleton Police Department is in the preliminary stages of a death investigation at a residence on the south side of Appleton.
On February 21, 2019, at approximately 3:03 PM, Appleton Police Department officers were dispatched to check the welfare of a female.
Officers attempted to locate the female throughout the day and at approximately 1:18 AM on February 22, officers made entry into a residence on Valley Road in Appleton.
The adult female was located in the residence and was deceased. The cause of death is unknown at this point.
It was learned the victim’s vehicle was stolen and was found in Kentucky. The operator of the vehicle was taken into custody. An autopsy of the woman is scheduled for Monday.
The incident appears isolated and does not pose an immediate threat to the community.
