GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A day to help non-profits in the community got off to a strong start.
For 24-hours, a community-wide day of giving is helping raise money for 40 non-profits.
The Green Bay Packers Foundation and the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation set up headquarters inside the Lambeau Field Atrium for the second annual Give BIG Green Bay project.
Dennis Buehler is President & CEO of the Greater Green Bay Foundation.
“Our goal and our role here is to utilize the foundation and Packers platform to advocate for the important role that non-profits play. We hope in a way it will compel people to contribute and support the causes that are really important to them.”
Packer CEO and President Mark Murphy said the Packer Foundation is once again helping out.
“We provide $250,000 in the form of a matching grant.”
The event has grown from last year.
“We try to spread it out. They are all great and there is something for everybody and they are all doing great things in the community.”
