MARINETTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Pembine man accused of shooting and killing his wife pleaded not guilty Wednesday.
No trial date was set Gary Rogge, who also waived his preliminary hearing on the charge of first-degree intentional homicide for the Jan. 13 death of Shelley Erickson-Rogge.
Rogge gave several different stories to police about how the shooting could have been accidental, but the criminal complaint says the evidence at the scene and the autopsy contradict those versions.
He returns to court May 14 for a status conference. If convicted, Rogge faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
