FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) – The ringleader of a heroin operation in Fond du Lac County was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Thursday.
Prosecutors say 48-year-old Allen Ferguson brought 3,000 to 5,000 grams of heroin into the county between 2015 and 2016.
He was also ordered to 15 years of extended supervision.
Ferguson was facing more than 100 years in prison.
Investigators were told by Ferguson that he first came to the area to help distribute heroin.
Court documents show that eventually he took over operations and began traveling from Fond du Lac to Chicago, two to three times a month, picking up a total of 200-300 grams of heroin per month.
After deputies performed a traffic stop on August 21, 2016, that resulted in the seizure of 132 grams of heroin an investigation started.
The investigation yielded more than 150 grams of heroin, 7 grams of crack cocaine, firearms, and thousands of dollars in cash in total.
All other suspects that have been charged in connection with this operation have been convicted and sentenced.
