GREEN BAY. WI (WTAQ) – With Valentines Day around the corner, many people are hopping online to find love.
Online dating services are in high demand this time of year. Susan Bach of the Better Business Bureau says they field tons of complaints about dating sites, and many of those can be avoided with proper research.
“Some dating services may be less expensive, but don’t offer as much value for your money, so make sure you are comparing apples to apples.”
And she says safety is always the most important thing to keep in mind since you don’t know who is sitting in front of the other screen.
“When meeting a date be sure to do it in a public place and be sure someone knows where you are and who you are meeting.”
It is also recommended to know what you are looking for in a relationship before signing up.
“Make sure that you check reviews out, especially on bbb.org to see if any of those complaints ring true with you.”
She says that also includes thinking about your end goal.
“It is important to decide what you are looking for in a relationship, rather that is a casual companionship or something that will eventually lead to a marriage.”
