GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The co- creator of Black Lives United held a rally across the street from the Green Bay Police Department Saturday.
Stephanie Ortiz says she thinks it’s important for the group to rally against police privilege.
She called it a direct response to the District Attorney’s decision yesterday not to file charges against officer O’ Brien.
She says Chief Smith invited the family to meet with him, but she wants everyone’s voices to be heard.
She also said “Even if it’s chanting and joining in solidarity just to say his name and come together because, again, not many people have the privilege to come to the table.”
Those who attended the rally brought signs and chanted Jonathan Tubby’s name.
