BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – The Brown County Sheriff’s Office hopes a little bit of sunlight today could help the road crews and the effort to melt some of the ice and snow on the roadways from Monday’s storm.
The goal is to get ahead of the extreme cold that’s forecast to move in tonight.
“Right now we’re currently experiencing some slick roads, icy roads.”
Captain Dan Sandberg say roads and highways could be dangerous places when you combine the ice…. and drivers who don’t slow down.
“We’re going to have first responders, the people involved in the crash, we don’t want those people subjected to the cold temperatures out there.”
Sandberg says another thing to remember is when you’re on the road and come across a crash scene…
“When they see any first responders, meaning tow trucks, rescue, fire, police, if they’re out there working on the roads please slow down and move over.”
Sandberg says blowing snow is also a visibility hazard…especially in more rural parts of Brown County.
