GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A number of crashes have taken place on Highways today.
A Fox Crossing police vehicle sustained minor damage after being hit near Highway BB and Prospect Avenue.
The officer did not appear to be injured in the accident.
A tow ban has been put into place by the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office for I-41 and Hwy. 441.
In Manitowoc County, part of I-43 was closed for more than two hours after a pair of semis slid into the ditch near Manitowoc.
Difficult travel conditions with multiple crashes are being reported in Brown County as well.
Conditions are continuing to deteriorate as the day progresses.
De-icing is not effective with the gusting winds and extremely low temperatures.
Highway 172 has glare ice problems at this time.
A Snow Emergency for the City of Algoma will go into effect beginning at 9:00 pm. On Monday, January 28th, 2019.
The Snow Emergency will remain in effect until 5:00 am. Wednesday, January 30th, 2019.
Snow Emergencies are also in effect in Appleton and Ledgeview and no parking on city streets is being allowed in Manitowoc.
