ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – Shopko Stores is closing 39 stores in 14 states, including one in Wisconsin.
The only state store on the list is the one in Mauston, according to Shopko spokesperson Michelle Hansen.
“Despite the stores’ efforts, as we reviewed the long-term outlook on profitability, sales trends and potential growth, we made the difficult decision to close these locations.”
Liquidation sales begin Friday, and the stores will be at the end of February.
All are Shopko Hometown stores, except the one in Lincoln, Nebraska, which is a department store.
