GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Local officials have announced plans for a community vigil following a gunman opening fire at a Jewish synagogue in Pittsburgh this past weekend.
The event will be Friday, November 2 along Doty and Baird Streets where the entire community will be invited to gather from 6:30 PM to 7 PM.
Those attending are invited to bring a candle as organizers are hoping to line the streets with prayer and support while Friday Shabbes service is attended by members of Congregation Cnesses Israel.
Bridget Daniels, co-chairperson and reverend with the local multi-faith and social justice organization JOSHUA has been hoping for people to come together in this emotional time.
“We have a responsibility to protect and stand with our brothers and sisters of all varieties of all faiths and all traditions,” says Daniels.
