APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – Election Day is less than a week away, and for those who are not registered to vote, there is still time.
For those wanting to register prior to election day, it will be important to keep in mind that the deadline is fast approaching.
Kami Lynch, Appleton City Clerk says even though online and mail registration has closed, there are still two ways to do it at this point.
“You can do it in the clerk’s office through this Friday, and then you will just have to go to your poll location on election date next Tuesday.”
Lynch says the overall numbers of people who actually came into the office to register are down from past years but says it is unknown how many used the online registration process which closed earlier this month.
For those choosing to register on election day, there may be a little more foot traffic in the office. “There are some lines to contend with, nothing too discouraging though.”
Lynch says it is important to remember to bring a proof of residence document with their name and their address.
