HARRISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) -The disappearance of an 18-month-old boy prompted communities all around the Township of Harrison to come together and help with the search.
Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department said 18-month old Cylus Bierbower disappeared from his family’s garage just before 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Harrison and his body was found Sunday morning in the Little Wolf River near the families home.
“That night we put a call out for Sunday morning for any volunteers that could come.
Captain Adam Wogsland says they are not releasing any additional information about the child’s death at this time but did take time to thank the community for lending a helping hand.
“We had agencies from surrounding areas respond and hundreds of volunteers.”
The boy’s body was pulled from the Little Wolf River Sunday morning.
The Little Wolf River runs behind the family’s home. It’s an area that some called “treacherous” to search.
As buses and volunteers began pouring into the staging area at the Iola Sports Complex, the search was called off.
For hours no explanation was given. Then late Sunday afternoon the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook the boy’s body had been recovered around 7:47 Sunday Morning.
