GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Heavy rains and storm conditions on Monday night in Green Bay has local curbs now packed with debris.
The aftermath effect of that intense storm can be seen throughout town.
Everyday home items such as furniture, bedding, and priceless photographs can now be seen spewing out of garbage cans and onto the curbside.
Green Bay resident Tiffany Cornell says Monday’s storm wasn’t just unusual, it was unprecedented.
“I’ve lived in Green Bay my whole life and I’ve never seen anything this bad, never,” she says.
Their family has lost many items to the storm, including a box spring and a dresser.
One of the more valuable possessions affected is her husband Ricky’s motorcycle.
“Just the bottom exhaust got water in it and it was spitting out water,” he explains.
Everyday life is currently being put on hold for the Cornell’s as the clean-up process has become their top priority.
“I’m hoping to go back to work tomorrow or Friday,” says Ricky. “I can’t until I get this thing done.”
The Green Bay Public Work’s Department is attempting to help by continuing curb-side pick-up through September 25 and designating drop-off sites, but they are filling up fast.
