GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The new Hotel Northland in Green Bay continues to work to fill their staff before opening.
With 135 jobs open, the Hotel Northland put together a job fair.
“Monday, we had a number of people show up bright and early, the word got out and we had quite a few people the following day.”
John Williams, General Manager says they were not planning on hiring people on the spot but used two days last week to meet people and share what they have to offer.
Williams says they are going to take two more days this week to that.
“We are going to go at it again on Tuesday and Wednesday, and that should pretty much complete the process of interviewing.”
Since the Hotel Northland closed, many have been waiting for the doors to open once again.
“I think it is not just that they want to be a cook or work the front desk, it is that they want to be part of the Northland.”
This fall, the Northland will be the first and only Autograph Collection hotel in the State. Williams says that alone has brought in a lot of interest and history.
“There are people who have waited so long for this hotel to come back to life, and they just want to be part of it.”
The job fair will take place at the Ferguson Family YMCA on North Jefferson Street from 11 am to 7 pm.
