FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) – A shooting on Wednesday night that took place at an apartment complex in Fond du Lac surprised residents, but they aren’t overly alarmed.
Fond du Lac Police was called to Forest Plaza Apartments around 10:30 PM after receiving a report that two people had been shot.
Both victims were transported to hospitals in critical condition and an investigation is ongoing.
Resident Ed Hardy lives in the complex.
“I looked out the window and saw the police,” he explains. “They were running and were in a big hurry.”
No suspects have been identified at this time, yet resident Eric Brotzman isn’t overly concerned.
“Honestly I’m not scared,” he explains. “I grew up in this type of environment, so it’s just nothing new to me.”
Even though he’s not concerned going forward, Brotzman was caught off guard by the incident.
“I’ve been in this neighborhood for about eight months and nothing like this has happened,” he says.
Police do believe the shootings are an isolated incident and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Fond du Lac Police.
Ed Hardy has a simple tip for anyone living in the area that might be concerned.
“Be safe, stay safe, and don’t let trouble find you.”
