LAKEWOOD, WI (WTAQ) – The annual Festi-Fall Craft Fair in Lakewood this Saturday is expected to bring an economic boom to the town.
The event has more than doubled in size since it started six years ago.
Lakewood resident and local business owner Amy Donaldson explains what she’s expecting.
“I know people look forward to it, so a lot of people that have cabins here plan to come that weekend when they might not have,” she says.
The event has grown so popular that some vendors are nervous they might not even get a spot.
“People are still calling me today,” says vendor coordinator Cyndi Rzepka. “I had a call this morning that they wanted to see if there were any empty spaces available.”
With all the people in town, it’s not hard to imagine that many local shops and restaurants reap the benefits.
“They’re going to be going to dinner in the evening, and frequenting all the local establishments,” says Donaldson. “I think it has an impact, especially just being that extra little push in the fall.”
The event gives residents and visitors alike plenty to do.
“They’ve got live music and food and it should be a lot of fun,” says Lakewood resident Angel Barber. “We’re going to have a good time.”
Thousands of people are expected in Lakewood for the festival this Saturday, which will feature 50 vendors and is open from 10 AM until 4 PM.
