GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Aaron Rodgers is now the highest-paid player in NFL history with his four-year contract extension with the Green Bay Packers.
The deal keeps him in the green and gold until the age of 40.
Rodgers will get a guaranteed 103-million dollars, and the contract has a maximum potential of 180-million dollars with incentives.
On average, he will earn 33-point-five million dollars a season and is under contract with the Packers through the 2023 season.
Rodgers has been Green Bay’s starting quarterback since 2008 after three years as the backup to Brett Favre.
The two-time MVP is the third NFC North quarterback to become the league’s highest-paid player in the past year, following the Lions’ Matthew Stafford and Vikings’ Kirk Cousins.
