GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A shooting occurred Tuesday afternoon on Green Bay’s East Side, which left one individual injured after being shot in the abdomen.
The incident occurred around 1 PM near the 2000 block of Eastman Avenue and stemmed from an altercation.
Green Bay Police Officer Kevin Warych explains what followed.
“When officers arrived they located a male victim in his 50’s with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his abdomen,” says Warych. “The victim was transported to a local hospital and his condition is unknown at this time.”
Officers believe there was a motive for this violence.
“Investigators do not believe this is a random act,” Warych explains.
Green Bay Police are following up on leads and actively looking for the shooter.
“We believe the general public is not in any danger,” says Warych.
Officer Warych explains the timeline of actions that will follow.
“Based on this preliminary information it’s going to take some time as officers and detectives are going to process that crime scene and try to find the person responsible for that shooting,” he explains.
