On Tuesday, the Milwaukee Brewers hit two home runs in the first inning against San Diego to lead four to nothing, but wound up losing the game 11-5.
Wednesday night, the Brewers smashed three homers in the first to lead 5-0 and this one didn’t get away in an 8-4 victory at Miller Park.
Jesus Aguillar’s 28th of the season was a three run blast and that was followed in succession by Travis Shaw and Eric Thames as the Brewers went back to back to back against San Diego’s Brett Kennedy, making his major league debut.
The long parade continued as Orlando Arcia hit his first home run since April and Christian Yelich launched his 18th of the year.
The support was plenty for Jhoulys Chacin who worked six innings, giving up three runs to improve his record to 11-4.
Milwaukee moves to 66-51 on the season and picked up a game on the Chicago Cubs who lost to Kansas City 9-0. The Brewers are now a game and a half behind the Cubs for the division lead.
Junior Guerra will take the mound in the series and homestand finale Thursday afternoon.
