ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – A three-year-old child was transported to the hospital in critical condition after nearly drowning in a pool.
Ashwaubenon Public Safety says around 6:45 last night (Sunday) crews were called to the 600 block of Linda Lane.
The report says the child was playing with other children at a party and there were other adults inside the pool at the time of the incident.
“There were a couple of bystanders that had medical training and they were able to begin resuscitation of the child until our units arrived,” said Captain Jody Crocker.
The bystanders included two nurses.
Crocker said it goes to show the power of being trained to save a life.
“This type of incident is one of the reasons why we want that to happen. Efforts by everyone in this situation were crucial to at least give this kid some hope.”
Foul play is not suspected.
