GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Green Bay held its 6th Annual Fly a Kite festival Saturday.
It’s the biggest event through the nonprofit organization, “Family and Childcare Resources of NEW.”
The free event had everything from stunt demonstrations to kite decorating and a huge misting truck to fight the heat.
Event coordinator Nicole Virant tells FOX 11 visitors were most surprised by something else.
“We have kids that will come over in our shuttle and they’ll see the kites over the tree top and just be like ahhhhh, and I think people are just surprised because even somebody else will come up to me and they’re like you know- I thought these were just going to be like people flying their own kites… no these are huge amazing kites.”
All proceeds from concessions sales went toward programming at Family and Childcare Resources of NEW to help early childhood development in North East Wisconsin.
