APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The History Museum at the Castle in Appleton held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday for a traveling exhibit of the NFL Hall of Fame.
The national traveling display officially opened Saturday
The exhibit is 7,000 square feet and consists of multiple sections.
It includes many hands-on interactives.
Packers public affairs director, Aaron Popkey says it fits right in with the Packer’s 100th season celebration.
“You can experience everything up at Lambeau field; the Hall of fame, the 100 season elements, but to have this in Appleton as well, it’s a great opportunity for Packers fan in the Fox Valley area,” Popkey said.
Dustin Mack of the museum says fans will notice an NFL timeline.
“Then our second-floor gallery, there are four different sections that talk about the early day of football, the ratio strife, records, and even the science behind football.”
More than 2,000 pieces of pro football history are in the exhibit.
Pam Seidl with the Fox Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau said a minimum of 22,000 people are expected to come.
“There will be a two million dollar impact because when visitors come to the area, they don’t just come visit the museum. They’ll eat at the restaurants, they’ll go to other attractions in the community and it really brings the people in,” Seidl said.
It will be open through January and daily adult admission is $15 dollars.
