GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ)- A van that was stolen after a carjacking in Green Bay early Friday morning, has been found.
Officers say a woman driving was hit several times in the head around 2 Friday morning at the intersection of Jamesford Avenue and Skyline Boulevard after picking up passengers, who took off with the vehicle.
Green Bay Police say they located the van on the 900 block of Edgewood Drive Friday afternoon.
Police say as they attempted a traffic stop, the driver sped away and crashed the van shortly after.
Officers say several people in the van took off by foot, and four were arrested with the help of a K-9 search.
Police Captain Kevin Warych says many questions still remain as the investigation continues.
“What led up to that event? Where were they going? Where were they coming from?”
He says finding the van should help answer questions.
“That vehicle is a crucial piece of evidence because it may have the evidence that we need for suspect identification.”
Even though they are questioning the people already in custody, Warych says any information that the community can provide can also be helpful.
“If anybody has any video surveillance from their home or any information, we want them to contact the police department.”
Police believe at least three people are still at large.
