MADISON, WI (WTAQ)- Oconto County Commissioner Frank Calvert has been suspended for 15 days by the state Supreme Court.
The decision was unanimous after Calvert was accused of investigating a case on his own and lying to the litigants.
Court documents indicate that Calvert researched a dispute between neighbors and Oconto Police, but did it without the neighbor’s attorneys present.
Documents indicate that he told neighbors that they would cited for disorderly conduct if they called police again, and told the judge to find them guilty if they appealed.
The Supreme Court said Calvert violated rules barring judicial officials from investigating cases, he never told the police to issue citations and he never told the municipal judge to find the neighbors guilty.
