CUDAHY, WI (MetroSource-WSUA) A Cudahy woman is facing charges in connection with a terrorism plot. She’s accused of using Facebook to recruit for and support ISIS.
Waheba Issa Dais was in federal custody after being charged with providing “material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization.” The 45-year-old mother of two appeared before a federal magistrate Wednesday and is set to return to court Friday to determine bail.
An FBI affidavit says Dais used Facebook to recruit for ISIS and to provide “instructions on how to make explosives, biological weapons, and suicide vests.” Prosecutors also say she expressed an interest in traveling overseas to help ISIS plan attacks within the United States. Investigators say she made statements online pledging support to ISIS. She also engaged in online chats through hacked Facebook accounts with would-be ISIS recruits. Those chats includes information about chemical attacks, how to poison a public water supply, and bomb-making instructions.
Dias came to the US in 1992 when he married an American citizen. They divorced in 2002, but she remained in the county as a permanent legal resident.
