ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Stadium View Bar and Grille is undergoing some major changes.
The sports bar is being remodeled for the first time in nearly three decades.
Located in the heart of the stadium district, Stadium View opened its doors in 1992.
Over the years, it has become a popular gathering place for Packers fans. Whether heading to the game or to simply cheer on the green and gold.
“The first remodel in 26 years when I built it 26 years ago, it was pretty nice,” said Stadium View owner, Jerry Watson.
Watson tells FOX 11 plans to upgrade the building have been in the works for two years.
Last week, crews began construction on what will be a whole new look for the sports bar.
“There’s going to be new flooring, new windows. In the front, there is going to be great big glass windows, and overhead doors that will open.”
The upgrade follows renovations on the banquet hall, which were completed last summer.
Watson says the entire remodel will allow for more space in the bar area.
“The bathrooms are going to go back into the banquet hall. So, that’s actually going to add more square footage to the stadium view sports bar part of it.”
Construction is scheduled to wrap up at the end of the July.
“We wanted to be done by training camp. We’re trying to be done for that.”
The bar will remain open during construction.
Officials say the remodel cost is around $750,000.
