TWO RIVERS, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – London Dairy Alpacas, in Two Rivers, opened its doors to the public Sunday.
The annual event is called Alpaca Odyssey and lets people feed and pet alpacas. People also had the chance to enjoy a little wine tasting and peruse the gift shop.
Members of the local 4-H club helped introduce the alpacas by walking them around the farm.
Kevin Stoer, the owner of London Dairy Alpacas, tells FOX 11…
“I want people to interact and know what these alpacas are all about. I don’t want people to be afraid the alpacas.”
Stoer says the farm is also welcoming some new additions.
“We’re celebrating the birth of the alpacas. We just had a baby born today. We had two babies born already. We have three more on the way.”
Stoer said he wants people to know alpaca fiber is warm, stronger than sheep wool and won’t make you itch if you wear the fiber.
“It’s a very light fiber. It’s a very dry fiber compared to sheep,” he said.
