OUTAGAMIE COUNTY (WTAQ-WLUK) -It was a great day for people to hit the water for some fishing and you didn’t need a license to do it.
This weekend is designated as free fishing weekend on Wisconsin’s waterways.
The Outagamie County Conservation Club held and event for children.
The club’s president says this particular event is a great way to get kids involved in the outdoors.
“A lot of these kids that come out here, have never fished before, or they don’t have a place to go. It gives them the opportunity to actually come out, enjoy it, and hopefully catch fish,” said Mike Kohl, with the Outagamie County Conservation Club.
Fishing wasn’t the only activity.
Kids could also practice their archery and building skills.
The club also had lunch ready for the kids complete with hot dogs, fruit, chips and beverages.
