GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ)- Green Bay Police Captain Kevin Warych says a new Wisconsin bill will help them help veterans.
New state legislation allows law enforcement to disseminate reports of missing veterans who are at risk. The legislation is being referred to as “Green Alert”.
Warych says it is another tool that they have to help veterans in need.
“Anything we can do to help veterans to give them the services that they need, this Green Bill helps us get the word out to other law enforcement agencies
Law enforcement will determine if the veteran is at risk due to the physical or mental health condition and if there is sufficient information that could assist in locating the missing veteran.
“This bill draws more attention to the veterans and makes us do everything we possibly can to help those who served our country.”
By definition, this includes veterans or active-duty members of the armed forces, national guard or military reserve forces.
