GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ)- Brown County Sheriff Deputies continue to look for a woman they say stole a debit card from an intoxicated man, and made several purchases with it.
Officials say the woman used the debit card on March 3, 2018, at two Green Bay area pharmacy ATM machines to withdraw money.
The total amount of transactions were close to $3,000.
Sergeant Jody Breider says the investigation is showing that are dealing with a slick criminal that knows what she was doing.
“It is clear to me that this person has either done this before, or they knew what they were doing because they did quick transactions in a short period of time.”
Breider says the fact that this went unnoticed is concerning.
“The criminals that do these things are very good at picking out people that are vulnerable at that point,” he said. “There is the potential that there are other victims out there that are either embarrassed to report something like this, or through the use of alcohol, don’t remember what happened.
Breider says that means the potential is there for the suspect to do it again.
The victim says he was intoxicated when he met two women just before the fraudulent activity.
If anyone has information on the woman’s identity or if you’ve experienced a similar situation, please call Sgt. Jody Breider with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office at (920) 448-4227.
