ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ)- Repairs will be needed after snow damaged roofs at the Brown County Arena.
Snow from the dome came crashing down, onto a roof, causing lots of damage and questions.
“We are hoping that construction crews can get in within the next day or so to begin the clean-up and determine what has to be done.”
Terry Charles of PMI Entertainment Group says the roof over a conference room and a lobby were damaged.
Many employees that work in those areas started their work week at home or at an alternative office.
“We have not lost our internet service or email, so we have been able to that remotely.”
Charles says for the most part they have been able to function okay.
The Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau staff worked Monday from the Tundra Lodge.
Depending on the repair plans, some events that were scheduled for the arena may need to be moved to the Resch Center.
“We have the cornhole tournament and a dart tournament in May. If we can’t get to work in the Brown County Arena, then some of those things can shift over to the Resch Center if need be.”
The building is in its final years of existence, so it is unknown what the repair plan will be.
Charles says they have snow slide off the dome for the last fifty years, but this was too much and too heavy.
