GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK)- The Green Bay Packers helped hand out trees for the annual “First Down for Trees” program.
Monday was the 8th annual event.
444 trees were donated to Brown County communities this year.
17 communities in Brown County benefited.
The trees were provided by three nurseries.
“It’s a great way to reduce carbon in the environment and that’s something that is increasingly important so for the packers to be involved in this way in the community it’s pretty unique for us and really fulfilling,” said Packers public affairs director, Aaron Popkey.
Over the eight years, more than 4,700 trees have been distributed.
