RACINE, WI (MetroSource-WSAU) SC Johnson is cutting jobs globally, including in the Racine area. The company announced Wednesday that it is eliminating 300 to 400 jobs across the globe in an organizational change.
The company wouldn’t say how many local jobs will be affected.
A statement from Senior VP Kelly Semrau said: “The company is healthy and our brands continue to be leaders in their categories. Other leading consumer packaged goods companies are doing the same as we all continue to respond to trends in the marketplace. Like them, we are doing this to maintain the company’s health and leadership.”
There are currently 2,500 local workers at the company.
SC Johnson is a leading manufacturer of cleaning products. They’ve been in Racine since 1886.
