SEYMOUR, WI (WTAQ) – Four 16-year-old boys are facing charges following a Wednesday incident at Seymour Schools.
A student informed staff that there might be a gun in the high school.
The building was put on an educational lockdown for roughly three hours.
Police received additional information after students were dismissed, finding an air-soft gun in a classroom.
School Business Manager Pete Kempen says “the weapon had the appearance of a real handgun and would have been indistinguishable from an authentic gun, except under close scrutiny.”
Investigators say no threats were made to any students or staffers.
Police Chief Richard Buntrock says something positive could come from this scary situation.
“Lessons learned in the real activity are always the best practices to learn from.”
Things were back to normal at the school on Thursday.
